Laurel Herbold
Laurel Herbold is a local freelance painter specializing in custom artwork and interiors. A 1993 BFA graduate of Bowling Green University, she now works with both commercial and residential clients helping them to enhance their live/work spaces with mural work and or framed artwork designed with all of their specific needs in mind. In contrast to the rigidness of her custom work, her gallery work is consistently abstract and playful, often making use of the materials left over from her "day job". This exhibit displays her alternative uses of latex paints and glazes as an artist medium. "These materials can be very fun to experiment with, and for me, opens the scope of my artwork to a whole different level. I enjoy combining subtle colors with active movement to create a sort of static tranquility that is always fresh to look at and easy to live with."
