Jim Ptacek

Jim Ptacek's works are the cityscapes of your mind.  Gone are the noise of the traffic, the bustle of the crowd.  All that remains are the textured images. . .the beauty and the grace of teh city and its structures.

Jim Ptacek has managed to distill the city down to its very essence. . .those structures that are a reflection of who and what the city is.

Peering through the dark hues and grained images is the life of the city. . .frozen magically in time by Jim's unique blend of photography and lithograph printing.

His prints hang in banks, restaurants, corporate offices and private collections throughout the country.  They have been the focus of many gallery shows as well.

Jim Ptacek's work has been reproduced as commemorative posters, post cards, calendars and greeting cards.  Jim's works now include the cities of Cleveland, Chicago, Cincinnati, New Orleans, Detroit, Buffalo, Jacksonville, Mobile, Orlando, Pittsburgh, Nashville and San Juan, Puerto Rico, capturing local scenes and landmarks in limited edition prints and posters.

Jim Ptacek was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1942, graduated from Cooper Art School, and currently lives in Cleveland, Ohio.
