Todd Anderson
Todd Anderson's art is off-hand furnace blown glass vessels created by gathering multiple quantities of molten glass on the end of a steel blow pipe and blowing and shaping the vessel to the desired shape and form.
"My glass is created by building the starter bubble from cane or murrini and gathering molten glass over that. I also make vessels that are blown in a more traditional manner and then cold-work or grind to the surface to create a battuto or inciso pattern. I also have developed a series that utilizes stringers and/or frit as a surface decoration."
Todd has an appreciation of the well formed classic vessel and is inspired a great deal by functional ceramics vessels. The style is more reflective of the Scandinavian rather than Venetian.
Todd currently blows glass at Superior Studio in Cleveland, Ohio.
Lake Erie Artists Gallery is currentlly carrying Todd Anderson's garden stones, but will be adding to our collection soon.
